Ode to Joy

Joy Malaika was only in this world for 14 weeks. Despite a valiant struggle in the most difficult of circumstances she passed away on 4/3/13.  Her funeral service was at 10.00am (Nairobi time), Tuesday 12/3/13.

It truly breaks our hearts that her time was so short. A small heartfelt tribute to the little soul.....

Ode to Joy

A little Angel passes through

Our world of woe and sighs

Tears flow across the world

As we say our short goodbyes.

Angel we called you Joy,

To light a candle light

In the darkness of your journey

We tried to banish night.

Those beautiful eyes

Full of hope and light

Made us feel so briefly

Heavens warmth and might.

And when we see your eyes

Innocent of no knowledge store

It pains our grieving hearts

That they will cry no more.

You never spoke a word

A silent voice forever

But written in our hearts

A bond we’ll never sever.

We wanted just to hold you,

Cuddled close for care

To let you know it’s OK

That love is always there.

And that you are beautiful

And there is no need to fear

And that you are so special

In a world that needs you dear.

But it was not to be,

Can you hear our cries?

Today in grief we unite with God

And tears flow with his eyes.

So lie little Angel where little Angels lie,

Fly little Angel to where little Angels fly,

But stay little Angel in the hearts of all who care

And guide us all to that holy place

where love dispels despair.
